t just depends on how quickly and how badly she matts. Chachi has the kind of coat that every day you would have to take out matts so I keep him short. Jewels coat you can let grow out a little and not deal with matts daily but I just learned to love the look and simplicity of the short cuts and keep her short also. I like the longer hair but unless its freshly groomed I think it looks kinda messy. I like a nice groomed look and my groomer leaves some length to the face so I do have a yorkie look also just not on the body
