Hawks are definitely not a joke....my neighbor's 13 pound Yorkie was attacked by one this year and is lucky to be alive. This is one case in which a little extra weight was beneficial to his health, otherwise the hawk's talons would have ripped through his diaphragm and vital organs. He has scars, but is doing well.
When I take the boys out on the 30' leashes, the rotten hawks often will show up and start diving toward us.
