one year ago october 12th, i brought home my precious little pixie! we were put on a list of adopters with about 6 ahead of us and were told that is was highly unlikely that someone ahead of us wouldn't get her. but they all fell through or did not qualify and about a week later we got to be her lucky new parents!
we left work, dropped everything and immediately started on our 6 hour each way journey to bring her home! she was meant to be ours for sure! this was her ad on petsmart. the first time i laid eyes on her i knew she was the one, and with that cute little tiny face who wouldn't lol?

i am so thankful that this shelter stepped up and took in several yorkies (pups and adults, including pixie at 2 weeks old, and her mom) after a puppy mill was shut down somewhere in kentucky. i was told pixie's mom was barely 3 pounds (she should've never been bred!) and got a loving forever home several weeks before i adopted pixie.
pixie is now 16 months old, barely 4 pounds, very healthy, and is the sweetest little girl! she is still quite a crazy playful puppy, but loves cuddle time too! she fell in love with zowi instantly (as she does with all dogs of all sizes) and stole our hearts! she is still a bit shy of strange people, but she does warm up when she's ready to and we're working on that.
