I'll pose the question in the General discussion board as to who was able to purchase a yorkie for less than $1,000. I think you'll be suprised at how many people have purchased yorkies for less than $1,000. Believe me, I didn't get Olivia for less than $1,000 because I was looking primarily in NY and NJ primarily for a breeder, but there are plenty out there.

Pet stores, for the most part, get their puppies from brokers (who get them from puppy mills) or get them directly from puppy mills. It's a fact. There are a few smaller pet stores that don't do this, but a very large percentage (dare I say, the majority) of them do. If you use the search feature here on YT, search "puppy mills" and "pet store" and you will see quite a bit of information and some great links for more information.
