Something else to remember is the lifecycle of fleas and the fact that they hide everywhere! In between the cracks in the floors (between wooden floor boards), in the carpets, in the couches, in the chairs, on our pets, everywhere and where ever they go, they lay eggs. So you may be killing the ones on your dogs but the eggs are going to be hatching. Its a vicious cycle. Our Max had them really bad back in either 2004 or 2005 somewhere in there and it took me a while to get rid of them. It was another summer like this past one - lots of rain and heat - apparently, they thrive in this weather. I was vacuuming every day, doing laundry every day and got some spray to spray around the house (where it would not bother the cats or dog - like under the couch and under the cushions on the couch, etc.) plus bathing Max, it took a couple weeks to get rid of them completely, but we finally beat them. Good luck, they are a hard pest to get rid of. Thankfully, Jack has not had any this year.
