Khloe is horrible at taking pills, and even with a treat... she will eat the treat and spit out the pill. I now have to force the pills down her throat. I just hold her between my knees while I kneel on the floor and pry her mouth open. If you drop it far enough near the back of their throat, their natural reaction will be to swallow it.
I guess it depends if you are able to do this with a larger dog
