A rescue puppy about 3 to 4 months old landed in my lap a couple of weeks ago, so I am now crate training her....she is doing great! I come home at lunchtime and when I put her up for the afternoon she gets a kong filled 1/4 of the way with regular peanut butter; it doesn't make a mess on her or in her crate though she is short haired.
I get what I can (which in very little) out of the bottom of the kong with the end of a spoon and I then fill it with hot water and shake it a couple of times and put it in a small container of hot water. Later I come back rinse it and put it in the fridge until the next afternoon.
