I guess I am somewhere in between. I wouldn't want to live in DC, or Baltimore, or even downtown Annapolis. Too busy for me. Love to visit cities, though -- NYC is one of my all time favorite places to visit but I could not imagine living there. Well, maybe for a little while, but I think I'd get sick of it fast.
On the other hand, I also don't want to be sooo far secluded that I become, like, not a part of society, LOL. My grandma lives in Young, AZ up in the mountains and it's the smallest town EVER. You have to drive at least an hour to the grocery store. Heck, to any store. She's 5 hours from Phoenix. I could never live there, but again, had fun visiting.
Right now I live on 3 acres with 90 acres of farmland behind us. No sidewalks or neighbors, except the farmer, and one house next to us (we never see the people -- the guy just mows his lawn ALL the time, LOL). But we are so close to everything... five minutes away from a bunch of little stores and food joints and fast food and all that. Ten minutes away from Annapolis, etc. Pretty close to DC/Baltimore.
Ideally, I'd prefer to be in a neighborhood though. Our house is scary if you are there by yourself! I'd like a neighborhood, with sidewalks, but still far enough apart to have your privacy and space.
