Wosie will do both. I feed her two different kinds of kibbles mixed, one is bigger than the other. She will chew the bigger one, and swallow the smaller. I think this comes from ancient times when dogs had to eat quickly to make sure they got some of the food, and it's called "bolting" I think. They do digest it, per what comes out on the other end, lol, so I don't think it's a problem.
