I appreciate your opinion and concern, but he's adjusting phenomenally. I grew up with two dogs that my mom adopted, both dachshunds, and dare I say he is relatively easy compared to them.
He has 1 sister that was sold the day before I got him. I adopted from a reputable breeder, as I have heard horror stories. I felt very comfortable after meeting the breeder and seeing the environment that he was raised in.
I've already taken him to a veterinarian (the day after I got him, as I am very cautious) who confirmed he is perfectly normal and healthy. We already have plans for follow up with the veterinarian for his next set of immunizations.
He eats wonderfully (the breeder had already introduced him to soft food with solid food mixed in), he uses his puppy pad, and we will continue puppy pad training until he has finished all of his immunizations (he already has his 6-weeks.)
He is a happy, curious and normal puppy. He shows no signs of distress or depression, loves to play and is already very affectionate with myself and my fiance. Some puppies may not be ready to separate from their siblings and mother at 6-weeks, but Chewie is doing wonderfully.
