Actually yes it can be enforcable but that will depend on a large part which country, state, province in the case of Canada you live in.
However, I would much rather deal with someone looking for a nice pet that I can trust that I won't have to haul their but into court. That simple and yes I do turn down many for a puppy or dog.
Pretty much everyone I sold to came to me because of the policy of they must come back to me. On some occasions, as I mentioned, a back up that I have approved is in place, usually a relative. In some cases, the spouse can't take on the responsibility and is only too glad I can be contacted the dog returned to me.
There is nothing to worry aboutwhatsoever about a contract such as this as it would only be a problem if you are trying to get rid of the dog or puppy.
