No chasing.
Try sitting down low on the floor and if the little one looks your way toss a treat.
If he steps closer to you toss a treat.
And so on till he is next to you clip one the leash and bonus treat him.
Now when you go to pick him.
Never lean over him, never face him,
Side view of you to him and get low at his side.
Leaning over and full frontal view is rude to a dog.
Plus if you approach try doing a curve move so start in front of the dog and move up and around in a half circle to the side.
If you watch dogs come together that is the way they do it.
