You should google low cost vet clinics in and around your area, one time I took a dog in to a low cost clinic and got his bum glands drained, flea and heart worm meds, and a set of shots for $60. If you can find a low cost clinic and a family member or friend willing to help you out for the time being it would def. be worth it! You should save that poop in a plastic bag and take it to the clinic as well.

I would never take on a dog if I couldn't afford to save his/her life... mind you I couldn't afford a $6000 surgery, BUT that's why I have pet insurance... I pay $40 a month for $20,000 in coverage for emergencies, and $800 in dental. Totally worth it.
