The only time I have ever noticed an odor is after we've been outside in the heat, and that was just puppy smell.
One of the reasons I got a Yorkie was the non-shedding - smell thing. I've been very happy. Maybe the pup needs his anal glands cleaned? That can sure cause an odor.
