We secure our 2 girls in my grandaughters regular baby car seat. They wear a harness which is hitched to the main harness of the carseat with a large collar strap, that can be clipped and unclipped quick if needed and they don't jump out over the sides and are happy just sitting or laying there looking at the world going by. They have been very happy with the arrangement and they both fit in the same seat. Might be worth a try! OH we also pull down the visor with the mirror so we can watch them in the seat...We ride for 2 hrs at a time with no problems, they sit or lay down.
