I have always taken mine to a groomer. The loop goes under the armpit not around the neck. I don't stay as Buster does better when I'm not there. He has really bad separation anxiety and would probably not get groomed if I stayed. The groomer has a nice shop in her house and she doesn't take big dogs. Maggie doesn't like big dogs and I wouldn't leave her anywhere she had to stay with a big dog in the next crate. They are at the groomer's for about three hours, the first few times that happened I was freaked out, worried that something might have happened. The groomer shouldn't mind answering any questions you have. The first time Buster got groomed after his surgery, she sent me a text message to let me know how he was doing. She knew I was nervous about leaving him after his surgery. I appreciate her a lot!
