I'm so sorry your little one is so ill. I just lost my Jack to this terrible disease.
The vet should do some additional testing to rule out other causes if the BUN and creatinine numbers are up. For instance they should check to see if it could be lyme disease or lepto. If it is kidney disease you can/may be able to do some things to prolong your little ones life. These sources where very helpful when I needed some extra help in understanding as to how to care for my little one....
