In the case of needing to be anesthetized, it is really important to have a solid vet that can weigh the pros and cons and make a good choice for your pup. In this case, I don't know what to tell you. They should have done it while she was under for her spay... As far as I know, in all places throughout the US they don't have to anesthetize. In some other places, I had heard that is not the case. The problem is the people restraining the animals are exposed to radiation all the time. We allow that here (with protective gear on). So I'd try to find out if this is a law over there or if it's vet preference based on just not wanting to make their techs do what they are supposed to do. If she is snapping, that is one thing. If she is just wiggling, they should be trying it. If Ellie the wiggle queen can be xrayed, just about any anxious dog can be.
