We got both of our pups at 9 weeks, with Kiwi he would NOT go outside but was very successfull with pee pads, so he was pee pad trained till he was about 8 months when he started to prefer going outside, so we took away the peepads and it was great!

Now with Lola, she prefers going outside! she is 11 weeks and is doing very well going outside, she does have a peepad to use during the day while we are at work(she does use it when we are not there) but when we are home she either goes on the floor or outside, so we try to take her out as much as possible.

So....so far in my experience, I would say see what works best for your baby and good luck! It takes a lot of patient and time, but one day your little one will get it no matter which way you go!
