I've heard some on here claim they have trained their dog to do both successfully, but most of those I know personally that claim that, have dogs that have alot of 'accidents'. I only have one friend that successfully trains her larger, older, dog to do both, and the potty pad is right by the door to the outside, and he uses it if he's desperate to go when they aren't home.
I agree with this, my dog is indoor trained, and I tried to teach him to go outside, to no avail, when doing both, we had lots of accidents. Harley will now hold his pee during our walks until he gets inside. It's much better to pick indoor or outdoor. If you don't like the idea of papers or potty pads, take a look at this. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...while-ago.html it's the system I use. I like this system cause it's low maintenance and doesn't stink quickly.
