Yup, it's checkered kind of, it's like a weave. so there are tiny holes in it throughout.

If you look at some of the toilets mentioned above, their major flaw is that some of the grids are too far apart and tiny paws end up getting hurt. I've been trying different size grids to find one that is both soft and safe on paws while being effective.
