Ziva was using newspaper in the garage at night and the pee would roll off before it could soak in. I removed the grid and left the papers on the tray. Problem solved! I change the papers when she uses it and bleach the tray once a week. The grid would be better, but Ziva doesn't get her feet wet.
yeah, clearly you are lucky to have a dog who hasn't discovered how to shred the papers. That's why mine has clamps. I've found pee soaked snow far too many times in his room to let him have any chance of gaining access to the tray.
