I would put a bucket, and a mop by the door he enters and have him wash his way through the house after his yucky boots. |
We have been together for 28 years and married for 25 years so I totally understand about the training. Believe me that I have been able to train many bad habit in all those years. This one I just can't seem to be able to break.

He's on vacation all week and he's been working in our laundry room painting and hanging new cabinets. When he is finished I am planning on putting a small bench with storage for him to use~which he claims will enable him to remove his shoes when he comes home from work. But the real issue is that he does not understand the cement is coming off the sides of the boots and not the bottom. He will show me the sole and point out that they are clean. He really just does not get it.
