Fact # 2 - If you can travel anywhere (and I believe that someone else said this) and you are seriously in the market for a Yorkie, then you CAN pay, the question is WILL you?

Fact# 3 - If and when you find that pup that you hold in your arms and the magic sparks, unless you are not from this planet of yorkie lovers, then you WILL NOT buy the pup. However if you are, you WILL buy the pup and WILL NOT care about the price.

Fact #4- If you can travel to New York, I can HIGHLY recommend a great pet store that actually breeds their pups. The store's name is J G's Quality Canines they are located in Brooklyn, NY on 2434 Stillwell Avenue. They accept appointments only. The phone number is (718) 449-7944 and I can tell you from personal experience that this store is TOPS in their field! The store is clean, all pups are immaculately CLEAN, the crates are clean and they have staff on hand for clean ups at all times. The pups are in the best of attitudes, they are playful, nice bellies, just overall great! I have been searching for a while now since the lost of my pure breed (maltese) and I can tell you this is one of the best of the best. I have been the owner of a pure breed for over 5 years.

Advice: Do yourself a favor, if you are under the spell of owning a yorkie and are really serious, do your homework and again ask yourself why do you want a female yorkie, if it is not for breeding, not the best choice. I would suggest that you do your research online or purchase a book. Ownership of a yorkie is a lifetime committment, this pup WILL be a part of your family, so do your homework and select wisely and know that when selecting a yorkie, keep in mind that this is an investment in your family, not just some property that's is cute for show...! Spoken by a true pet lover!

Actually... very few people on YT would recommend ever buying a pup from a store. Most would say "pet store" and "reputable" shouldn't even be used in the same sentence. Granted, I know that a few of our members have purchased form QC and are very happy with their babies and the owner of QC, but as a whole most, if not all, people would advise against 99% of pet stores if they know the facts about where most pet stores get their dogs. $1,500 is quite a bit more than many of our members have paid for their yorkies, so it's not entirely accurate to say that is the low end of the average price. It's probably the average in NYC, but definitely not in other areas of the country. And Desirae explained that she has flight benefits, so she won't need to pay (or at least pay full price) for a plane ticket. No matter how cute a yorkie is that I hold in my arms, if the price is out of my range- I'm walking. Believe me, I've held many a cute yorkie in my hands and had to leave empty handed because I wasn't willing to spend more than the amount I had budgeted. I have a female yorkie- not used for breeding- and couldn't be happier with my decision, so I'm not sure why you're advising against her getting a female. Also, in her post she said that she has been looking for 1 1/2 years for puppy, so this is by no means an impulse purchase. She very well may have books on the yorkie breed and have done research on the internet. Maybe it's just me, but I didn't get the impression that she in anyway thought that her new yorkie would be just a cute piece of property for show, so I'm not sure why you mentioned that.

Desirae, we have many wonderful breeders on YT, and they would be a great place to start. TxShopper is in TX and is a breeder. She would be a great place to start for a puppy- either one of hers or perhaps she can recommend a breeder. Good luck in your search, and don't worry- you'll find your baby soon enough!
