I tried it qutie a few years ago, and thought the food was HORRIBLE!!! The only good part was having everything planned for you so you didn't have to spend so much time preparing, shopping and thinking about food.
Unless they've changed A LOT you might as well just go to your local recycling center and gather up some cardboard-it'll taste the same and not cost you so much!! AND you'd be helping the environment!
Back then you had to buy a whole week's worth of food at a time and you couldn't sample it before hand. I think I joined when they were having a promotion so I just paid for the food, but I think they normally had some kind of sign-up or membership fees, too.
Just my opinion, though. Good luck whatever you decide!
