IMHO something just isn't wired right in the head with pittbulls. Last month my neighbor was petsitting a pit bull mix. The neighbor's kid opened the gate, I was on the other side of the yard with my yorkie. The pit jumped on my pug and bit his face. I screamed my head off and I couldn't get that dog off of my Bailey. I screamed for John and I'll admit I even tried to kick it even though I think I missed. She let go when she saw my husband. My husband said to bring him to the vet because he had two cuts.Thank god I was holding Brandy, if that dog had gotten hold of her it would have been worse. I believe that there is a certain responsiblity you have when you own a type of animal like that. One capable of killing. Brandy and Bailey can both nip, but they're not capable of killing.
This pitbull was very nice to people and when she was smaller she used to play with Bailey. I even had her in my house before. Now that she got bigger she just became agressive towards him. But she's okay with the neighbor's lab-mix. She is even owned by 2 small kids and is great with them and is a friendly dog. I honestly believe that something isn't wired right in their head and anything could set them off. I never had anything against pittbulls but now I do, I would never own one. That pittbull wasn't provoked, my pug is as friendly as pugs get. The dog wasn't raised to fight either so I think any pittbull is capable of turning. Again, these are just my opinions and my experience.
