I'm confused. Did the OP actually find a vet who was willing to dock the tail at one year old, or she was just thinking about having it docked and had not discussed it with her vet? I'd be horrified if my vet would agree to do this.
Someone I know bought a yorkie mix at 6 weeks, and had found a vet who was willing to dock the tail while in for a spay and he even asked for a "filipino discount"
I told him to not ever go back to that vet. I wish I knew the name of that "vet".
