Nikki had all his rotted teeth pulled and gum build up done due to being found on the streets in total neglect. He is estimated to be about 19 now and that was 2 years ago. His mouth was in such bad shape I couldn't believe it when the vet was finally able to get his mouth open. He was in surgery for 4 hours if I remember correctly and recovered fine. We did the pre anesthesia blood work and they put him on an antibiotic a few days prior to surgery. Now 2 years later he is doing fine. Eats like crazy, even small pieces of kibble and treats. If the vet feels your baby would be better off with the teeth pulled and all his blood work looks good he will probably feel better a few days after surgery. Good luck and keep us posted. |
