Thank you, Jennifer. I called the vet on call and she isn't my regular vet, but I do think very highly of her. She said that if Maddie is eating, it shouldn't be anything life threatening and to bring her in in the morning and have her checked. Just before calling the vet, I had taken Maddie outside to go potty and when I brought her back in, she started scratching the carpet, pillow...just like she was digging and digging for something...then she'd roll around and scratch some more and then rub her body against the wall or couch...like she was wild and I haven't figured that out...unless she was itchy and didn't know where to scratch. After doing that for a couple of minutes, she layed down again and went to sleep. Then, after calling the vet, my daughter and grandkids and their two dogs stopped by and Maddie kind of came to life. I didn't let her get rough with the puppies, but she sure was glad to see them. I'm now wondering if she is probably depressed because she is used to seeing them often and hasn't seen them since her surgery. Once they left, she sprawled out on the pillow and has been there since. She is just not herself at all!
I will let you know how things go tomorrow at the vet. Thanks again! |
