I have more than one type Collar for mine, BUT...
I never ever hook a leash to them, when they need restraint, it's always via a Harness !

When in the house/yard (confined area) here at home, both have some very light Nylon Collars, which have Bells on them. Different sizes Bells for each Dog, which lets me know who is where. I have rather dark paneling and carpet, and this was initiated to let me know where the "puppy's" are, so they won't get stepped on "as much"

When we go out for any reason, those "light" Collars are removed, and a heavier Collar is used, with a very secure "snap". Their ID/inoculation tags are on those Collars.
