We have an exterminator spray around the outside foundation of the house monthly and some spiders are undeterred.
I don't think anything you can buy off the shelf is as strong as the stuff the pros use, and the pros are expensive. Nothing is truly safe for dogs, unfortunately. I have to supervise my guys and make sure they don't lick the areas that have been sprayed.
