I never had to use a collar on Gracie. Of course I was with her all the time after the surgery. She licked the incision a few times but nothing that would disturb it. It's just natural for a dog to lick a painful area. Too much licking could be a problem but she was good about it. I would let her lick a couple of times and then say no and she would stop. That first day is hard because they still have the medication from the surgery in them. I think that is good because they sleep through the worst part. I'm sure your little girl will have even more energy tomorrow.
