I have had Zoey since birth but she cried every time she when in the car til she was almost a year old. Overstimulation. I just kept taking her and eventually she stopped.

My mom's bichon used to get car sick but it lessened with age. He loved to go in the car if he ran off we could only get him to come back by opening the car door. So he did not get sick from fright.

You could try leveling the windows open for better air circulation. Mom always had to keep the windows open some for the bichon if not he would throw up.
