I can say this for sure, kennel cough in most healthy dogs will run it's course. Chloe had it. There is a certain Robitussin you can give to help them with the cough if it's bad. My vet said if the cough isn't too bad to let it alone because it's a productive cough, which means it brings up the phlem that's in there. Chloe coughed off and on for 2 weeks, spit up some phlem, and it went away. I did not give her antibiotics. You will have a much healthier dog if you hold off on them as much as possible and allow their bodies to fight the infection. Of course there are times you just have to!
