I think the ears can be similar to a horse's ears expressions...except dogs have more variation w/ happy ears. Like, when my babies are kissing me, or when I make smoochy noises (and they pounce kiss me) - their ears might go backward and forward and backward and forward - and they're really happy and excited during that - so I think their ears can indicate goofiness and playfulness too. I love their little ears, and each of their ears has a cute unique smell too - it's so cute!
