If he is okay with it, keep doing what you are doing. It might be a little low. When Max ate Acana (Grasslands?), he had over 1/2 cup a day. He was 8.0 pounds at the time. Admittedly, he did gain 3-4 ounces while he was on that and Go! Endurance.
Grasslands may be lower in calories than Ranchlands (isn't that what you are feeding?), so that may also account for the difference in Riley being satisfied.
