Took Summer to my vet today for her dressing to be removed and the incision checked. She had some purulent drainage but her incision looks terrific. My vet called the surgeon and he is not concerned about the drainage..he recommended that we keep it wrapped for now (the original instructions were to keep it off after two days). She will be going back to my vet daily for a dressing change.
Here is a picture of her incision...pretty scary looking. I am glad I did not see it before they closed it...clearly that thing was way worse than any of us realized. Oh, you can also see her little ear that is missing.
They shaved it..no clue why they shaved that one and not the other....maybe it was hanging in her wound.
