I'm so sorry your Tootsy is feeling unwell. I would make a list of all the questions I have, then call your vet's office and speak with the vet her saw her. Just explain that during your recent visit you were so focussed on Tootsy that not all of what she explained at that time stuck with you. Then I would describe what changes Tootsy is experiencing now

I would also if I am still uncomfortable with either the vet or her recommended course of treatment seek a second opinion.

Pain meds prescribed here in North America may not be either available in the UK or vice versa. But generally speaking it is common practice to prescribe pain meds after surgery.

I certainly hope Tootsy starts to feel better soon.
