When kaji was neutered, i had them microship him, and extract teeth retained baby teeth at the same time to avoid having him put under a second time. Dogs are so resilient! He was better in a matter of days and back to his normal self. As far as waiting to have the lump removed, that's a tough one. Can you get a second opinion? I would, and have when I'm uneasy about something. I love my vet, but like you said, I want to be informed and make the right decision for my pup. Good luck.
