I agree that personality is something that is not gender based - it's just on an individual basis. The sweetest Yorkie I've ever known was the female we had when I was growing up. I have a female now who is a love, but she's so NOT like Chelsea was. I also know a male yorkie who was only sweet with his family and hated everyone else and another male Yorkie who thought that everyone in the world was his friend and wanted to play fetch constantly. Yesterday Belle and I met an 8 month old male Yorkie who was such a doll - very calm and sweet and loving.
The advice you were given to meet with a litter and see which Yorkie fits with your personality is definitely good advice! Good luck in your search for your future pup!
