Hmmm, I'm thinking it wouldn't be to hard. Just use the crate itself and draw off a pattern. I would probably draw the side pattern, then the top pattern and the back panel pattern, then join them together. The just add the ties. Or you could make the side pattern panels and one long strip for the top and back section.
I just looked at the one I have on Zhoie's crate, it's the 2 side pieces, a top piece and a back piece. All separate piece then joined together with cording.
