Hello from a fellow UK-er!!
We have Harry in a large crate in our bedroom, ever since we got him at 3 months old. He comes up on our bed during the evening, then we put him in his crate at bed-time (about 10 p.m.), shut the crate door, lights off - and he'll sleep in it until we wake him up (6.30 a.m. weekdays - goodness knows when at weekends!!)
He doesn't cry or scratch or
anything - he knows it's his place and that's where he sleeps - sometimes when I wake up he's just sitting there, looking at us! What I'm meaning to say is, because your baby's crate's in your room, it doesn't mean you have to have him on/in your bed during the night (if you don't want to!)
