My Yorkies all have wire crates. I think they are more versatile. They can be belted in the car. Ued covered or open. I like the removable tray it is easy to clean if accidents happen. When uncoverd the puppy can see what is going on and you can observe the puppy. The Vet uses a wire crate as a hospital room. When used as a sick room, it can be easily wiped down with disinfectant and the patient can be seen. Covered it provides a safe private little cave. I also have a plastic carry crate for vet visits.
