Bottom line, My deciding factor came to was not what a read online. Yes, I am guilty and I used to just "follow" what I read. But my mind what opened when my Taycie needed and RX diet. For now it is working for us and I am happy with it. I do think really is a personal choice and what works for some, does not work for all. |
I know of at least one prominent Yorkie show dog who eats food that is 40+% protein and does fine. However, it would not be my choice. I feel safer with more modest amounts.
Make sure you have liver and kidney function tests done annually.
