Depending on his answer, I probably wouldn't have given it another moment's thought. On one hand you say your son doesn't have many friends, on the other when he does have a chance to make some, you criticize innocent bonding behavior. Really, be glad a parent was there even if it was only to supervise. That's more than a lot of kids have these days. I understand the issue with the shoes, but you gotta choose your battles wisely.

I don't really need advice on being a good parent. This is why I didn't say anything. He just came in and took a shower. I asked him if he had a good time and that was it. I was just pissed and thought I would vent here. Boy was I wrong!!
