While scooting alone is not a sign of pain, more itchiness, if you see weird kicking after a poo, or rolling and itching along with scooting all at once after a poo, talk to your vet. Harley was doing all three at the same time, and my breeder told me the kicking was him marking, but the vet said he was in pain from the bowel irritation... wow, i have never heard of those symptoms being linked to irritable bowel syndrome. THey are all very typical normal behaviors for many dogs. Huh Usually kicking after going potty is a marking behavior, and i see lots of dogs roll around and itch as well. Does he have diarrhea? or constipated? Straining to poo? or anything else that made the doctor suspect irritable bowel syndrome?
