I'm not sure either. I think I read during my research that you don't do that with this kind but I'll be sure to find out. We flipped our other one (pillow top or plush top, not sure what you'd call it) religously.
One of the neat things about this iComfort one is that if it ends up getting craters in it (and you "shouldn't" so they say), once the crater is an inch deep, they replace the mattress. I can live with that.
