I have a Suburban 4x4, and there's hardly more than one other passenger that rides with me now a days. The third seat is out, and the second row is laid down. I bought a piece of Astroturf which covers the whole back compartment (that's the Grass looking stuff) which is a space of little over 4'x 8' (tot about 36 sq ft).

HA, it looks like a small Yard back there.

There's a spilless Water Container, a small Bowl of Food, a couple of Toys, a Potty Pad and a couple of old blankets for naps on longer trips. Either of mine can move back and forth on the center console. My Male Sneakers @12 lbs, enjoys standing in my lap and driving with his paws on the steering wheel. My Female Becca has tried that, but, she can't see over the wheel..."yet". She's at 7 lbs now, and conscientiously working on qualifing for her TeaPot membership.
