I feed mine together and usually don't have problems with them eating each others food. Occasionally, Khloe won't finish her breakfast and Couver helps himself to it. I don't leave food for them when we are gone... so that's not a problem. They say in a large room with their crate that is covered to create a den, pee pads, water, a chair to sleep on and a heated bed and they do great together.
I kept Khloe separated from Couver when she was younger (while we were away) to ensure they didn't get too rough and her get hurt. Once I knew that she could hold her own, they were in the room together. I know they really enjoy the company of another pup while we're gone and it makes me happy knowing they are not lonely
