Def get the dist and rabies 3 wks apart - that's always a safer bet. I don't know a vet who doesn't/wouldn't support giving benadryl 30-40mins prior to the shot. My vet has said that in her 20+ yrs as a vet, she has never had a dog react to a vax if they've first had benadryl.
